The Wikwemikong Board of Education (WBE) is a leader in First Nation student achievement. The WBE provides exceptional educational experiences and services to nearly 1,000 students of all ages. The WBE is responsible for a rather large job of nurturing the learning spirit and providing a high quality education in 1 Child Care Centre, 2 elementary schools, 1 adult education program and 1 secondary school. We provide education for students in Murray Hill, Kaboni, South Bay, Rabbit Island and the village of Wikwemikong. The WBE also provides unique services such as Curriculum development and a Student Success Program.
With a focus on striving for Education Excellence, we provide our students and staff with the tools for realizing their fullest potential, while also instilling a proud identity and a life-long commitment to community.
At the WBE, our staff make the difference! Our Board employs more than 80 staff, and each staff person contributes to the success of our students and our Board, regardless of their role. Throughout our Board, our departments and staff are dedicated to Excellence. Our Board is committed to providing staff with opportunities to pursue professional growth and leadership. To this end, we have set up a First Nation Student Success (FNSSP) program to assist our education staff achieve their full potential by establishing a professional learning community and in providing the staff with the expertise in numeracy, literacy and student retention activities.
